Special flexible stripwound hoses with a corrugated profile are predominantly employed here for exhaust systems. These are very robust, unaffected by torsional movements and sufficiently gas-tight. Flexible fluid and recirculation lines are increasingly being employed in the near-engine area. These increase the  functional reliability and reduce emissions and fuel consumption.
